The Will’s Way Project honors the memory of Will Day, who during his short life spent many days in UNC and Duke Children’s Hospitals. Through many tests and procedures during those trying times, Will was always able to brighten our world with his loving smile.
We seek to bring a little light to the families and caregivers spending long days and nights with children in nearby hospitals with gift bags and care packages.
When? Saturday, September 19, 2026, through noon on Saturday, September 26, 2026
Who Can Participate? Anyone with the link online, you do not need to be on social media. You can check out last year’s auction at and stay tuned for the 2026 link!
Why? All funds raised will be used to shine a light for families with children in the hospital this Christmas through jam packed gift bags. This project is in memory of sweet Will and the auction is in celebration of his birthday.
How can You Help? We need auction items! All kinds of items have been great auction items in the past. Tickets, trips, experiences, gift cards, homemade items, collectibles, must have items and many other things. If YOU would love to score it, someone else will too! It is easy to donate, let us know what you plan to donate and all items are due by August 15, 2026. See the button below to Register your item(s) for the auction.

Would your class or group like to make a craft or card to go in these special bags we deliver this Christmas?
We have received many comments about how special it is to receive a homemade card or craft. You can help shine a light in this special way!
All cards or crafts are due by December 1 and must be able to fit in a 13” X 13” bag.
Grace is at UNC Children’s hospital awaiting surgery on Thursday. We are glad to be celebrating Will’s birthday and thanks for the Starbucks card!! She’s been here 10 days and will probably be another week or so. Feel free to use Grace’s photo. Thank you again!!!
